PETALING JAYA: Prominent businessman Daing A Malek Daing Rahaman has strongly denied allegations circulating on social media linking him to the purchase of a luxury property in the United States.

He was responding to allegations made in a social media post alleging that Rosmah Mansor, wife of former prime minister Najib Razak, had directed and funded the purchase of a US$13 million (RM52.7 million) mansion in Mango Way, New Jersey, in July 2025.

The post alleged that Daing was a shareholder in a company to which the property was transferred a year later.

In a statement today, Daing categorically denied all the allegations against him as being “wholly untrue” and defamatory. He said he would take legal action, including criminal prosecution, against those who posted or shared the allegations, Bernama reported.

He said a police report had been lodged and investigations are under way to identify those responsible for the publication and circulation of the allegations.

The offending post, accompanied by a video, was published on X by a user identified as Mark Lansvin (@lansvin) and subsequently shared across other online platforms.

It alleged that Rosmah’s son-in-law Daniyar Kessikbayev was listed as the buyer of the property, which was allegedly transferred in May 2026 to Daran Investments Capital Inc., a company registered in the British Virgin Islands, through a confidential declaration of trust.

It also claimed that Daing was a shareholder of the company, and that US authorities were tracing the money trail through proxies.
