A Live, Time-Separated Case Study Demonstrating Persistent AI Visibility Across Major AI Answer Engines

Introduction: From Rankings to AI Answer Inclusion

As AI answer engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, and Google AI Mode increasingly mediate how users discover information, visibility is no longer defined solely by ranked search results. It is defined by whether an AI system selects a source for direct inclusion within its generated answer — and the position at which that source appears.

This shift has driven growing interest in Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO): the practice of structuring content, entities, and trust signals so that AI systems recognise a source as authoritative, reliable, and suitable for citation.

While GEO is now widely discussed, there remains limited publicly available evidence demonstrating repeatable AI source positioning over time, measured using live retrieval rather than simulations or retrospective tooling.

This article documents a live, time-separated case study, designed and executed by Paul Rowe, Chief Generative Engine Optimisation Officer & CEO of NeuralAdX Ltd, examining how major AI answer engines surfaced sources for the same commercial query across a three-month interval.

The full live recordings and transcripts referenced in this case study are publicly available for independent verification:

What Generative Engine Optimisation Actually Changes

Traditional SEO focuses on influencing where a page appears within a ranked list of links.
Generative Engine Optimisation focuses on whether a source is selected and positioned within an AI-generated answer.

In practice, GEO aims to ensure that AI systems:

  • recognise a source as a clearly defined topical authority
  • can reliably extract answer-ready information
  • continue to trust the source across repeated evaluation cycles

The objective is not simply visibility, but answer eligibility — becoming a source AI systems repeatedly choose when generating responses.

Methodology: Controlled Live Retrieval Testing

To ensure the results reflected genuine AI behaviour rather than isolated anomalies, the tests were designed using a controlled, repeatable methodology.

The following constraints were applied:

  • one website and one entity
  • one unchanged query: “What is the cost of generative engine optimisation in the UK?”
  • one unchanged content and entity structure
  • live AI retrieval captured via continuous screen recording
  • transcripts enabled to verify real-time output

Two live retrieval events were recorded:

  • 19th September 2025 — initial retrieval
  • 10th December 2025 — follow-up retrieval after three months

No optimisation changes were introduced between tests. This allowed the results to reflect how AI systems independently reassessed the same source over time.

Test 1 Results — September (Initial Live Retrieval)

During the September test, four AI systems were observed. Results are presented in a fixed, consistent order.

ChatGPT — September (#1)

Perplexity — September (#1)

Microsoft Copilot — September (#1)

Google AI Mode — September (#3)

Observation (September):

  • ChatGPT: #1 referenced source
  • Perplexity: #1 referenced source
  • Microsoft Copilot: #1 referenced source
  • Google AI Mode: #3 referenced source

Test 2 Results — December (Three-Month Follow-Up)

The same query was tested again on 10th December 2025, using the same methodology and unchanged content.

ChatGPT — December (#1)

Perplexity — December (#1)

Microsoft Copilot — December (did not surface)

During the December test, Microsoft Copilot did not surface a generated answer for this query under the recorded conditions.

Google AI Mode — December (#3)

Observation (December):

  • Perplexity: #1 referenced source
  • Microsoft Copilot: did not surface
  • Google AI Mode: #3 referenced source

Why Platform Differences Matter

AI systems do not apply uniform retrieval or synthesis logic. Each platform applies different thresholds, intent classifiers, and answer-generation rules.

This case study demonstrates that:

  • Eligibility can persist even when prominence differs (Google AI Mode at #3 across both tests)
  • Surfacing behaviour can change over time without implying content regression (Copilot surfacing in September but not December)

This reinforces a core GEO principle:

AI visibility must be evaluated per platform and per time period using live retrieval evidence.

Conclusion

This case study does not attempt to generalise results across all AI systems or all query conditions.

It does demonstrate — using live, time-separated evidence — that when content structure, entity clarity, and trust signals align with AI evaluation mechanisms, persistent AI visibility and inclusion are achievable, even where prominence differs by platform.

Why The Green Bay Packers Must Take The Cleveland Browns Seriously — As Hard As That Might Be

The post Why The Green Bay Packers Must Take The Cleveland Browns Seriously — As Hard As That Might Be appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers are off to a 2-0 start. Getty Images The Green Bay Packers are, once again, one of the NFL’s better teams. The Cleveland Browns are, once again, one of the league’s doormats. It’s why unbeaten Green Bay (2-0) is a 8-point favorite at winless Cleveland (0-2) Sunday according to betmgm.com. The money line is also Green Bay -500. Most expect this to be a Packers’ rout, and it very well could be. But Green Bay knows taking anyone in this league for granted can prove costly. “I think if you look at their roster, the paper, who they have on that team, what they can do, they got a lot of talent and things can turn around quickly for them,” Packers safety Xavier McKinney said. “We just got to kind of keep that in mind and know we not just walking into something and they just going to lay down. That’s not what they going to do.” The Browns certainly haven’t laid down on defense. Far from. Cleveland is allowing an NFL-best 191.5 yards per game. The Browns gave up 141 yards to Cincinnati in Week 1, including just seven in the second half, but still lost, 17-16. Cleveland has given up an NFL-best 45.5 rushing yards per game and just 2.1 rushing yards per attempt. “The biggest thing is our defensive line is much, much improved over last year and I think we’ve got back to our personality,” defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz said recently. “When we play our best, our D-line leads us there as our engine.” The Browns rank third in the league in passing defense, allowing just 146.0 yards per game. Cleveland has also gone 30 straight games without allowing a 300-yard passer, the longest active streak in the NFL.…
