Trump immediately mocked after big 'fraud war' announcement at SOTU

President Donald Trump's announcement during his State of the Union address on Tuesday about his administration's "war on fraud" was mocked by analysts.

During his speech, Trump announced that Vice President JD Vance would lead the so-called "war on fraud." He also claimed that Somali-Americans in Minnesota have taken about $19 billion through social services fraud schemes. The comments caused Rep. Ilhan Omar to exclaim, "That's a lie!"

Since 2018, federal investigators have indicted more than 90 people and secured 60 convictions against people who have committed fraud in Minnesota, according to reports.

Political analysts and observers mocked Trump's comments on social media.

"JD: the king of fraud is standing right in front of you," Rep. Jimmy Gomez (D-CA) posted on X.

"I'd be convinced only if he immediately announced the arrest of Trump," Gary Kasparov, founder of the Renew Democracy Initiative, posted on X.

"Last time you tried this it literally COST taxpayers $10bn," former Biden White House staffer Dan Koh posted on X.

"Convicted fraudster announces ‘the war on fraud’ will be led by the guy who has 27 aliases," writer Polly Singh posted on X.
