PANews reported on February 21 that Kolten, a member of Aave Labs, stated that there has been recent confusion regarding the transition timeline from Aave V3 to Aave V4. He emphasized that Aave V3 will not be shut down in the foreseeable future and will continue to operate normally even after the launch of Aave V4. There is currently no hard and fast timeline for "replacing V3 with V4 as soon as possible." Kolten stated that V4, based on years of protocol iteration since V1 and extensive business communication experience with institutions and developers, will adopt a slow and cautious launch path on the mainnet, involving "deposit caps and gradual opening of assets and use cases." Kolten also revealed that the team is developing a solution for migrating from V3 to V4 without liquidating positions, but this may not be available on the first day of the V4 mainnet launch.

The central bank’s so-called dot plot, which shows 19 individual members’ expectations anonymously, indicated a median estimate of 3.4% for the federal funds rate at the end of 2026. That compares to a median estimate of 3.6% for the end of this year following two expected cuts on top of Wednesday’s reduction. A single quarter-point reduction next year is significantly more conservative than current market pricing. Traders are currently pricing in at two to three more rate cuts next year, according to the CME Group’s FedWatch tool, updated shortly after the decision. The gauge uses prices on 30-day fed funds futures contracts to determine market-implied odds for rate moves. The central bank has two policy meetings left for the year, one in October and one in December. Economic projections from the Fed saw slightly faster economic growth in 2026 than was projected in June, while the outlook for inflation was updated modestly higher for next year.
