Trump takes aim at Obama's library in petty rant: 'The neighborhood is angry as Hell'

President Donald Trump took aim Sunday at former President Barack Obama’s Presidential Center and library in a furious outburst on social media, insisting that the ongoing project was sparking outrage among members of nearby communities.

“Illinois is spending hundreds of millions of dollars in trying to BAIL OUT Obama’s badly delayed, and tremendously over budget, ‘Library,’” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social. “The neighborhood is ANGRY AS HELL. It is a total disaster!”

Originally slated to open in 2021, the Barack Obama Presidential Center is now expected to open in Chicago, Illinois this June, with its construction halted several times due to lawsuits and cost factors.

Obama’s presidential library has long been a target for Trump. Last May, Trump attacked the project as “woke” and a “disaster,” and in October, he described its design as “not too pretty,” proclaiming that the former president “needs help” for having approved such a design.
