What Was The Major Twist At The End Of Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2?

At the end of Percy Jackson Season 2, Thalia is resurrected from the pine tree thanks to the healing powers of the Golden Fleece. Luke has vanished, while Chiron returns with a major secret he feels compelled to share with Percy, Annabeth and Grover — one that could change everything.

The centaur reveals that on the night Thalia was turned into the tree, he was actually there, watching and ready to intervene to save her. When she encountered Hades’ monsters, the Furies, they approached her and told her that her father, Zeus, wanted to use her as a weapon in the upcoming fight against Kronos in order to fulfill the Great Prophecy. (As a reminder, the prophecy states that a child of the Big Three, either Zeus, Poseidon, or Hades, will face a choice at age sixteen that could either save the gods or destroy them.)

Zeus then appears and tries to convince his daughter to join his cause, but she refuses to be used as a pawn. As punishment, he turns her into a pine tree and forces Chiron to lie, telling everyone that the Furies had mortally wounded Thalia and that Zeus spared her life. This marks a major deviation from the book, which tells a different version of events: Thalia fights the monsters so her friends can reach Camp Half-Blood safely.

In the episode’s final moments, Thalia appears before Percy, Annabeth, Grover and Chiron after waking from a three-day coma. She asks where Luke is, while Percy reflects on what her return means, including the possibility that she is the child referenced in the prophecy and could ultimately be the reason Olympus is destroyed.

What Is Percy Jackson Season 3 About, And Which Book Will It Adapt?

Season 3 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians will adapt the third novel in Rick Riordan’s bestselling series, The Titan’s Curse.

According to Riordan’s website, in The Titan’s Curse book, Percy receives a distress call from his friend Grover, who has made a major discovery: he has found “two powerful half-bloods whose parentage is unknown.” At the same time, the Titan lord Kronos has “devised his most treacherous plot yet,” pulling the heroes directly into the danger.

According to rumors, there is an ancient monster somewhere that could possess the power to destroy Olympus. However, Artemis, the only goddess who might know how to track it, is missing. Percy and his friends, along with the Hunters of Artemis, “have only a week to find the kidnapped goddess and solve the mystery of the monster she was hunting. Along the way, they must face their most dangerous challenge yet: the chilling prophecy of the titan’s curse,” the book’s description reads.

In an interview with Variety, Walker Scobell, who plays Percy, said there was less pressure heading into The Titan’s Curse because it had not previously been adapted for the big screen.

“I almost feel like there’s less pressure, because I don’t think there’s anything to really compare it to,” he explained. “I thought Logan Lerman had a wonderful performance as Percy Jackson, but now I’m on my own.”
