Part 1. Why You Need to Activate the Token Address
Due to the special mechanism of the HBAR network, your wallet address must be activated with HBAR tokens (JAM/NADA, etc.) before transferring any tokens to the address. Please ensure that your wallet address has at least 10 HBAR tokens before activating any assets, as adding assets requires payment of network fees. If your withdrawal address does not have an active asset, you will not be able to withdraw.
Part 2. How To Check Whether a Token Address Has Been Activated
A. Status: Activated
You can search for your address on the HBAR block explorer at https://app.dragonglass.me/ to check whether the corresponding assets have been activated, as shown in the figure below. If there are transfer records and the ACCOUNTS section shows that the activated tokens have been added, it means that you are able to transfer activated assets to this address.
B. Status: Not Activated
You can search for your address on the HBAR block explorer at https://app.dragonglass.me/ to check whether the corresponding assets have been activated, as shown in the figure below. If there are no transfer records and the ACCOUNTS section is empty, it means that no HBAR standard assets have been added to this address.
Part 3.How To Activate Hbar Token Address
Firstly, go to the official website: https://hedera.com/ and click on the supported wallet addresses for the project: https://hedera.com/ecosystem/wallets-custody.
For example, if you're using HashPack wallet: https://www.hashpack.app/, please follow the steps below to activate your wallet:
- Install the wallet and create an account.
- Transfer some main tokens to the generated address.
- Click on [Add Token].
- There are two ways to add the token: you can either select it directly, or add it via futures.
- Click [Associate Token] to add the token and wait for the addition to complete.
- When the token you added appears on the interface, it means you have successfully added it to your wallet.
Part 4. Important Notes
- To activate an HBAR address, you must first deposit 10 HBAR to the address, activate it, then manually add other tokens you want to deposit.
- It is recommended to use the official wallet software for activation.
- Please make sure the target address assets are activated before you withdraw, otherwise you won't be able to withdraw.
