StarkWare Verifies Quantum-Safe Bitcoin Locking Scheme on Mainnet Without a Soft Fork, but It Is Not Yet Suitable for Large-Scale Use
According to Odaily Planet Daily, StarkWare researchers have verified a quantum-safe Bitcoin locking mechanism known as QSB on the Bitcoin mainnet without requiring a soft fork, new opcodes, or changes to consensus rules. The first related output was spent on August 26, 2026, in Bitcoin block 964,199, while the required GPU computation cost has fallen from about $320 to around $50. However, the scheme still requires substantial computation, and moving assets into it still relies on conventional transactions that may face quantum-related risks. It also lacks supporting wallets, address formats, and recovery procedures, so it currently remains an emergency research solution.
Unichain to Migrate to OP Enterprise, With Testnet Migration Set for October 13
According to Odaily Planet Daily, Unichain announced that it will migrate to OP Enterprise in preparation for native interoperability across OP Stack chains. Once the interoperability feature goes live, users will be able to move assets between OP Stack networks without relying on conventional cross-chain bridges, with ETH expected to be supported first. The Unichain testnet is scheduled to migrate on October 13, while the mainnet migration is planned for late October. The transition is expected to strengthen native interoperability within the OP Stack ecosystem and reduce additional bridging steps for users moving assets across chains.
Evernorth Completes SPAC Merger With Armada Acquisition Corp. II
According to Odaily Planet Daily, Ripple-backed XRP treasury company Evernorth has completed its business combination with SPAC Armada Acquisition Corp. II, bringing approximately 473 million XRP and $300 million in cash proceeds into the public market. An 8-K filing submitted by Evernorth to the U.S. SEC shows that the transaction closed on October 9, U.S. Eastern Time. The company is expected to begin trading on Nasdaq next Monday under the ticker XRPN. The transaction further connects the XRP treasury model with public capital markets, creating an additional route for institutions to gain XRP-related exposure through a listed company.
Robinhood Chain Evaluates Arbitrum’s Updated Paid Transaction Ordering Technology
According to CoinDesk, Robinhood Chain is evaluating an improved paid transaction ordering mechanism developed by Arbitrum. The technology allows transactions that pay additional fees to receive priority in ordering. Robinhood Chain currently uses a first-come, first-served transaction ordering model and has not adopted Arbitrum’s earlier Time Boost version. According to Odaily Planet Daily, Nasdaq-listed TruGolf Holdings has completed its acquisition of Canadian asset tokenization company Polymath Research Inc., which will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary. Polymath develops Polymesh, a Layer 1 blockchain designed for regulated assets. As of December 31, 2025, the company had issued more than $132 million worth of tokenized assets for over 65 active issuers and had more than 50 ecosystem partners. The two companies also plan to launch equipment-lease tokenization and fractional franchise ownership projects in the first quarter of 2027.

According to CNBC, Blockchain.com has applied to the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission for Designated Contract Market and Futures Commission Merchant licenses, seeking to offer event contracts and crypto derivatives to U.S. users. The proposed changes are designed to align with the OECD’s CARF framework, which is set to take effect on January 1, 2027. South Korea has also identified 55 participating jurisdictions for cross-border crypto tax information exchange.
