Bank of England Official: Stablecoins Could Reinforce U.S. Dollar Dominance and Increase Demand for Treasuries
According to Odaily Planet Daily, Bank of England Financial Policy Committee member Carolyn Wilkins said the growth of U.S. dollar stablecoins could further strengthen the dollar’s global dominance and increase demand for U.S. Treasuries. She noted that USDT and USDC held nearly $150 billion in U.S. Treasuries combined by the end of 2025 and purchased about $33 billion during that year.
